A good questionnaire has a few qualities that must be followed by the researcher. We must choose a research question that highlights the methodological prowess. A research question must be answerable by the methodological tools available to the researcher. Conversely, the methods, however sophisticated, must help the researcher to answer a question of significance to both researcher and their discipline. As we consider what we can do practically, it may be worth thinking about reformulating or “spinning” our question in a way that will allow us to provide an effective answer. Similarly, as our thinking evolves and our research question changes, we must prepared to reformulate our research design.
